Maximizing the Space: Elevating the Yard with a New Deck

The sloping yard called for a creative solution to bring the lower and upper levels together. To create a more functional, level space, I designed a deck that elevated the lower yard to the same height as the upper yard. This seamless transition allowed me to integrate a pool, trampoline, and spa into the deck design—ensuring they flowed together harmoniously, and providing a safe, level space for play and relaxation.

Outdoor Beverage Nook: The Perfect Entertaining Spot

A space under the existing deck, which was previously unused, became the ideal spot for a stylish beverage nook. I designed the space to include a wine and beer tap—perfect for entertaining guests and making every gathering a bit more fun. With ample counter space and built-in storage and counter space for food spreads, this space is both functional and inviting, making it a go-to place for casual meals and cocktail hours.

Dining Space with a View

Adjacent to the kitchen, I created a cozy dining area perfect for family meals or dinner parties. With comfortable seating and views of the beautiful yard, it’s the perfect spot to relax and enjoy meals in the open air.

A Charming Cottage Gate for Privacy

To ensure privacy and a sense of retreat, I designed a charming cottage gate at the front of the property. This gate adds both visual appeal and privacy, creating an intimate space that feels secluded and inviting, while still maintaining the charm of the cottage’s exterior.

Swing for Lounging Under the Deck

For a touch of whimsy and relaxation, I added a swing tucked under the upstairs deck, providing a perfect spot for lounging and enjoying the peaceful ambiance of the backyard. This unique nook is a perfect example of how thoughtful design can make even the smallest space feel like a cozy usable place.
